A New Dinner Menu for Old Captiva House

Posted on

With a new interior of the restaurant Old Captiva House and a state-of-the-art kitchen comes an exciting new menu, boasting delicious flavors and local favorites that will have your mouth watering.

It’s no secret that Old Captiva House is the only sushi restaurant on Captiva Island, and due to the unique structure, not only can you enjoy Sushi at Old Captiva House, but you can enjoy some of the best sushi in Southwest Florida. Our favorites include some of the specialty rolls, including our signature Captiva Roll: a spicy tuna, cucumber and crab roll with spicy mayo and eel sauce; and the Florida Roll: a lobster, scallion, tobiko and asparagus roll wrapped in soy paper.

The traditional menu also boasts some seafood favorites, starting with Parmesan Panko Crusted Scallops, Roasted Shrimp and Jumbo Lump Blue Crab Cocktail, and a local favorite, the Blue Crab Bisque. Starting plates range from $12 to $19, and are often shared or utilized as “small plate” entrees.

For the plant-lovers, dine on a traditional House Salad which is also vegan, or Wedge Sala, which is gluten free, or delight in the more complex Grilled Caprese Salad (also gluten free), Knife and Fork Caesar, or Arugula and Baby Heirloom Salad. The Arugula and Baby Heirloom features Belgian endive, smoked bleu cheese, shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano, and a lemon infused white balsamic.

Sticking with gluten-free entrée options, guests enjoy Blackened Snapper, Duck, Chilean Seabass Filet and a Vegan Delight. Vegans also enjoy Braised Veggies as an option as well. The Pomegranate Glazed Lamb Chops laid over roasted garlic parmesan smashed potatoes, vegetable medley and honey ginger demi are sure to delight any gluten-free diner, while the Grouper with basmati rice, julienned vegetables, asparagus tips, and mushrooms topped with a tropical lump crab salsa and citrus butter sauce is another way to indulge with dietary restrictions.

Other favorites include the Tuna, Jumbo Prawn Pasta, Cioppino (Fisherman’s Stew) and Lobster and Crab Crusted Scallops. For an extra special evening, add a lobster tail, scallops or shrimp to any of these dishes.

Whether it is food from the land or sea, vegan or gluten-free, you’ll love what Old Captiva House has cooking up for your next trip to Captiva. From special occasion to every night occasion, come visit us and our new digs tonight! Get the full menu here.
